HEATHER HONOUR – CHAIR
Chair of the Hello Club and one of the founder members in 2013. She has lived in Sutton for over thirty years and was a Liberal Democrat councillor for the borough from 2010-2014. Her career was in public affairs and campaigning for people with learning disabilities.
COLIN IDDLES – TREASURER
Colin was a founder member of Sutton South Hello, now the Hello Club. He has been Treasurer since its inception. He undertakes a number of volunteer roles in Sutton, including Chair of South Sutton Neighbourhood Association and Church Warden at Christ Church.
NALI PATEL – SECRETARY
Nali is a founder member of the Hello Club. She moved to UK in 2003 and has lived in the Sutton since then. She chairs Sangam, a charity organisation primarily for elderly South Asians. She was a Liberal Democrat councillor from 2014 to 2022 and Deputy Mayor. Nali has a passion for improving the lives of elderly and disabled people. She is involved in many local charities.
GERRY BENNEWORTH
Gerry has lived in Sutton for 25 years. After retiring from a career in High Street banking he was for a number of years a volunteer with AgeUK Sutton in their information and advice service. He has been with The Hello Club for 9 years where he is responsible for a wide range of functions.
CHRISTINE CREWE
Christine’s career was as a Human Resources Manager and, following an early retirement, she volunteers with Cats Protection, Royal Marsden Hospital, Cinnamon Trust – the National Charity for Older People, the Terminally ill and their pets, as well as The Hello Club.
ISABEL EVANS
Isabel has been a Board member of the Hello Club since its inception. She is Secretary of The Highfield Residents’ Association and organises monthly teas for retired residents and is also involved in various activities connected with her church. Isabel is a former teacher of Mathematics at Wallington High School for Girls and currently is an examiner of A Level papers.
TIM HAIGH
Tim is the owner of Right at Home, a domiciliary care agency, which provides quality care to elderly and disabled adults across Sutton and Mid-Surrey. Launched in 2011, Right at Home was inspected by the Care Quality Commission, awarding it a rare Outstanding rating, placing it in the top 1.3% of care at home providers in England and Wales. Prior to Right at Home, Tim worked as Head of Communications and magazine editor for the RELX Group, one of the world’s largest media companies. He lives in Banstead with his wife Jasmina, teenage children Maisie and Max.
ROS MCGAVIN
Ros was employed at The Crown Agents in Sutton until retirement. She has always enjoyed singing, walking and was Vocal Secretary to Sutton’s Music Festival. She is currently Membership Secretary for Hello.
FRAN WILSON
For most of her career Fran worked in local Government both in London and Essex, primarily in Children’s Services. She moved to Sutton in 2013 where she learned about the Hello Club. She been a regular helper since then and was Secretary to the organisation until 2022.
MAGGIE WOOD
Maggie has lived in the Borough of Sutton for some 35 years, now retired, having spent 39 years teaching Science in Merton and Sutton. She has always enjoyed working with people and appreciates the opportunity to be involved with The Hello Club.
Cllr RICHARD CLIFTON
Richard is a retired senior civil servant, working in the UK and the European Union. He has been a London Borough of Sutton Councillor since 2010 was, Mayor of Sutton in 2017 and is currently chair of the Council’s Planning Committee. He is an accomplished trumpet player.
TRISH FIVEY
Trish has been a Councillor in the London Borough of Sutton since 2014 and was Mayor from 2020 to 2023. Currently she is chair of the Audit & Governance committee. Trish has lived in the Borough for over 40 years. She is on the board of Trustees for Sutton United Football Foundation and is the sports and cultural champion for the Borough. Trish has been in the Insurance industry for over 40 years and is the owner of Insure2bsure Ltd.
